Chile – Starry Skies in the Atacama Desert
The Atacama Desert, known as the driest place on Earth, offers an incredibly clear view of the night sky – an experience, wild and overwhelming. Of our four nights there, we spent three outdoors, gazing up in awe. I’ve seen some impressive skies around the world, but this one ranks among the most beautiful and fascinating I’ve ever witnessed – a contrast between infinity and silence.
A mix of nighttime captures
Here’s a mix of images from those three nights – snapshots that capture the grandeur, raw and majestic. Since the skies were so clear, I dared to shoot for the first time with my 90mm telephoto – an idea I should’ve tried earlier, a dance between technique and wonder.
An unforgettable view
These nights in the Atacama remain in my heart – an experience that swings between Earth and cosmos, deeply rooted in memory.
