Cinque Terre (Italy)
In October 2024, we made a three-day stopover in Cinque Terre, the five colorful villages along the Italian coast — a stay both wild and picturesque, with two full days being just enough. The villages were beautiful, even though they were still crowded with tourists in October, a contrast between charm and bustle.
Peace in the Side Streets
Once you left the “main street” and ventured into the narrow alleys, you were almost alone and could fully enjoy the wonderful atmosphere — raw and peaceful. The weather gave us two warm days, interrupted by a two-hour rain shower — perfect timing to finally plan our honeymoon in Tuscany. After the wedding, these calm days with good food were a real treat; the Dolce Vita with strong coffee and delicious crema croissants is hard to beat.
Discoveries by Train
We stayed in Monterosso al Mare and took the train to villages like Manarola, Riomaggiore, and Vernazza. It was hard to say which one was the most beautiful — each had its own charm, and the usual highlights were easily reachable on a day trip, a spectacle of variety and ease. This also left time to discover hidden gems.
