Hiking at Oeschinensee (Switzerland)
Over the long Ascension Day weekend, we traveled for the first time to the Bernese Oberland, heading towards Kandersteg and Adelboden to hike at Oeschinensee — a call that drew us in, wild and promising. Shortly before arrival, Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau to the left of the highway caught our eyes, but Kandersteg had its own magic waiting.
A Climb Between People and Mountains
Saturday morning, we started early, surprised by the crowd at the valley station. We climbed up to the lake, paused briefly among the many people, then hiked along the shore on the panoramic trail. Up top, it was finally quieter — the view of the mountain massif was often spectacular, a contrast between bustle and silence, rough and majestic.
Snow, Drone, and a Finale
The trail still showed patches of snow and slippery spots, but we made it to the mountain station ten minutes before the last descent. Enough time to take an aerial shot with the drone for the cover image, a dance between cold and shine. The next morning, we visited the Engstligen Falls near Adelboden before returning leisurely to Lake Constance — a beautiful spot calling us back.
