From Trinidad to Salto del Caburní Waterfall (Topes de Collantes)
At sunrise, I was back wandering the streets of Trinidad, enjoying the beautiful light in the colorful alleys — a morning, wild and picturesque. After breakfast, we drove back into Topes de Collantes National Park, an adventure full of anticipation, raw and inviting.
Through coffee plantations to the waterfall
The first stop was a small, not particularly remarkable coffee plantation near Escambray — just a quick look. Then we headed to the nearby Salto del Caburní waterfall — starting point was the Hotel Escambray with its cool, abandoned residential complexes. A long, steep hike down the mountain led us past beautiful limestone formations to the waterfall, a worthwhile landscape, delicate and impressive.
Sunset with a view
The day was crowned by sunset from the Mirador, a viewpoint with a magnificent view over nearby Trinidad and Cuba’s southern coast — a spectacle of light and vastness that rounded off the trip.
