Bali – Aerial Shots of the Rice Terraces
When we planned our trip to Borneo and Bali, an idea took root in me — a series of aerial shots focusing solely on rice terraces with my drone, called “Portraits of Rice,” wild and poetic. Due to time constraints, I took my portrait website the-portraits.com offline, but the series from Bali came alive.
Portraits over Jatiluwih and Canggu
Most of the shots were captured in central Bali, around Jatiluwih, known for its stunning rice fields — a contrast between lush green and flowing lines, rough and delicate at once. Large, magnificent fields near Canggu also shimmered like works of art from above.
A Wish for More
Bali enchanted me — I should have stayed longer, as surely countless more rice terraces and motifs await that I didn’t see. These images, a dance between nature and height, remain in the heart — a sight that calls for a return.
