After Borneo we went to Bali for a week: relaxing, enjoying the landscape and the good food, yoga for Luisa and a reunion with Nina and Antonio. For Luisa it was the first time; I had been here several times before, and my enthusiasm had been limited – too touristy, too crowded, I thought, and plastic waste on the beaches.
Bali surprised me
We found two beautiful hotels near Ubud and Canggu, and the week went far too fast. The food was amazing, and riding a scooter through the landscape was as much of a joy as ever. Right in the south, on the Bukit peninsula, Uluwatu Temple stands on the edge of a 70-metre cliff above the sea; it is one of Bali’s nine directional temples.
See you next time, Bali
Bali surprised me – and it wasn’t the last time, that much is certain. Next time we’ll come as three.
