Chile – Roadtrip through the Atacama Desert
On our last full day in San Pedro, we set out by car through the Atacama Desert towards the highlands and the border area of Bolivia – an adventure, wild and overwhelming. The landscape was a spectacle, with llamas everywhere that brought a broad smile to Luisa’s face, a contrast between desert and life.
Snow and mud in the highlands
At higher elevations, we encountered snow-covered areas where the roads became challenging, rough and unpredictable. Our little white Polo then sported a mud-red “protective layer,” but washing is included in the rental price – a dance between nature and humor.
Preview of the stars
A trip to the Atacama isn’t complete without star photos – those will follow in the next post, a promise swinging between earth and sky, deeply rooted in the heart.
