Glacier Tour to Griesslisee and Aletsch Glacier – Ice and Silence from Above
Over the long Corpus Christi weekend, I finally headed back to the Swiss Alps – a longing for glaciers and patterns that only reveal their true face from the bird’s-eye view. With the drone packed, the adventure began – wild yet calming.
Griesslisee – A Cold Mirror
The first stop was the small Griesslisee at Klausen Pass, where a glacier calves into the lake – a breathtaking contrast of ice and water. After warm days at Lake Constance, the cold was inviting – a swim after the shots, rough and refreshing, a moment between sweat and coolness.
Aletsch Glacier – Majesty in Flight
The next day, the gondola took us to Fiesch, up to the Aletsch Glacier, the largest on the European mainland. The hike to the edge opened the view, but from above the structures revealed their full glory – cracks and crevices like natural artwork. Beneath the ice, a small ice cave glowed – a treasure uniting cold and wonder. Two cool days, literally and truly.
