Colorful Mineral Lakes and an Abandoned Mine
The locations in this post felt surreal, the colors of the lakes not exactly looking healthy – a hint of mystery, wild and fascinating. The first was an old mining site on the Spanish side, where red water with old tires strewn about would hardly deserve a “Beach of the Year” title in Lonely Planet. Yet from the height with the drone, a beauty revealed itself, rough and alluring.
A magic of morning and evening
The other two mineral lakes surprised us – we reached them shortly before sunset, so impressive that we drove back from Huelva the next morning at sunrise. From the shore, they looked dull, no structures or colors visible. But up high with the drone, about 100 meters, camera pointing down – pure amazement! One lake was almost dried up, the ground colored in yellows, oranges, and reds, the water a deep dark red, while the neighboring lake showed white shores and turquoise-orange water, as if someone had thrown a color bomb – a contrast between earth and dream, delicate and powerful.
A striking sight
These color plays, captured from the air, were more than just images – a dance between nature and mysticism, lingering deep in the heart and calling for more.
