Yucatán from Above – Where Coastline and Color Dance
A few days by the beach in Yucatán were a must, and El Cuyo had me hooked – a small fishing village on the northern coast where endless untouched beaches and turquoise Caribbean waters paint a picture of calm from the sky. Pale sand flows into gentle dunes, the sea quietly kisses the shore – a contrast between wilderness and peace that goes straight to the heart.

Ría Lagartos: A Protected Natural Haven
Not far away lies Ría Lagartos, a nature reserve that reveals a living mosaic of waterways, mangroves, and lagoons from above. Life pulses here – flamingos, crocodiles, and countless other creatures call this place home. It’s a raw yet delicate ecosystem, captured in every glance.

Las Coloradas: The Pink Salt Fields
Then there are the salt flats of Las Coloradas to the south – a burst of color that takes your breath away from the air. Vibrant pink hues glow against the deep blue sky and the lush green of the mangroves – a dance of nature and light. These colors, created by microorganisms and algae in salty waters, have made the fields both an economic hub and a photographer’s dream – a place where Yucatán’s diversity truly shines.
