Iceland – Bruarfoss Waterfall near Geysir

Somewhere hidden in the Geysir geothermal area lies the Brúarfoss waterfall – a destination, wild and hard to find, which I searched for twice in vain. The directions online are sparse, probably to the benefit of the neighbors next to the waterfall, a contrast between adventure and secrecy.

A funny path to beauty

This time we finally made it, and the journey there was worth a story! After parking the car somewhere in the middle of nowhere, almost two cars with Brazilian girls blocked us in – no matter, cameras in hand, and off we went with Google Maps. A bigger stream crossed our path, a balancing act over stones, but we managed to stay dry, chuckling at the girls who still had to cross.

Surprise and drone flight

At the waterfall, we were quite amazed – the girls were already there thanks to an easier path with a bridge, hehe! The fun grew when it turned out they were all from Hamburg. The waterfall itself was stunning, especially from above with the drone – a dance of water and air, rough and delicate. Afterwards, we made a quick detour to the Geysir and then continued toward Gullfoss.
