On the second day there was lots of fresh snow up at the Passo di Giau, and the sun was shining strongly – accordingly sunburnt we looked in the evening. In between came a great snowshoe hike through 30 centimetres of fresh snow with many views over the Dolomites down into the valley to Cortina d’Ampezzo, of course also from above with the drone. The Passo di Giau lies at 2,236 metres between Cortina d’Ampezzo and Colle Santa Lucia, on a wide alpine pasture at the foot of Nuvolau and Averau; from up here the view reaches as far as the Marmolada.
