Ice Cave Tour near the Jökulsárlón

As the year before, we went into an ice cave again, though this time with other tourists and into a somewhat smaller cave than last time. It was beautiful all the same.

What was especially impressive was that we were there right on time for sunrise: the light wandered over the ice inside and out, making it glow in ever new shades of blue. Because the caves melt or flood in summer, no two seasons are alike – and you may only go in with a qualified glacier guide.
