Northern Lights in Akureyri

On our second-to-last night, we finally experienced 2–3 minutes of truly intense northern lights in Akureyri – a spectacle, wild and overwhelming! So vivid that I could barely capture the full spectrum of colors and rapid flickering with my camera – a contrast between nature’s power and the limits of technology.

Challenged by City Lights

Unfortunately, the strong lighting all around Akureyri with its many lamps made it impossible to get beautiful landscape compositions – raw and distracting. But the experience itself was breathtaking – a truly wonderful ending to a great journey!
