Laufás Turf Houses and Church

After two nights at Mývatn we went on to Akureyri. On the way we spontaneously turned off to the turf houses and the church of Laufás.
Turf houses and a small church
The turf houses were beautiful, but the small Icelandic church next to them particularly appealed to me. It would be the perfect setting for a small wedding. The farmstead on the Eyjafjörður was built between 1853 and 1882, and the church dates from 1865. Today the old turf farm is a museum run by the Akureyri Museum.
