At the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, we first visited the black beach where icebergs are washed back ashore from the sea – a place, wild and fascinating. To our surprise, the large ice chunks were missing this time, and the warmth of recent days had blurred the beautiful details in the ice, a contrast between expectation and disappointment.

A Changed View

Despite the circumstances, the beach offered a quiet spectacle, raw and restrained – a moment of nature revealing itself differently than expected.
